Three factors that can significantly improve your team's success in developing your business

We live in interesting and challenging times for businesses and the only certainty that we appear to have is that things are constantly changing. If it is not enough that the UK business environment is a competitive one, there is also the evergrowing influence of the international stage, from the impact of morgages in the USA on the willingness of banks to provide business loans to the flexing muscle and rapid maturity of the Asian economies that are looking beyond simple manufacturing at which they currently excel. Add to that the constant advances in technology and communication affecting how you contact your clients or they find you.

Successful businesses are therefore those that can adapt with the changes and grasp the new opportunities that come their way; the ability of a company to adapt is dependent on the people within.

In times of flux and uncertaintly however, the natural reaction for many is to batten down the hatches and stick to what they know. In fact we often encounter a resistance to the changes that are required.
The three factos that can significantly improve your teams success are therefore:

  • development and support of staff to enable them to deal with change positively
  • promoting good leadership by team leaders and managers
  • effective communication both within the company and externally to clients and other businesses

Whilst this might occur fortuitiously or by instinct in some organisations, many would recognise that they could develop one or more of these aspects further and of course we have all encountered situations where there are serious issues to be addressed.

Fortunately, one of they first steps towards achieving aimprovements in either the team, leadership or communication is consciously considering them and identifying strengths to be encouraged and weaknesses to be addressed. Furthermore, external expert help is always available.
