LinkedIn - for business contacts

Steam Train

LinkedIn is often the first choice for people wanting to use of social media in a business setting. It used to be a CV site where people could promote themselves and be headhunted. Nowadays you can put up posts that are seen by your contacts and vice versa and join specific interest groups for discussions. The content is predominantly business minded.
We use it to reflect the interests of our director Chris Thomas. You can also generate a company page.
A LinkedIn profile dramatically improves your chances of being found on the Internet.

  • Make sure your profile is not simply a CV. Include interests and goals.
  • Look for groups in your areas of interest and join them to take part in discussions. This raises your profile. You can even create your own group and invite people to it.
  • The search function is also very powerful. Try it with some keywords related to your business.
